Katie Jackson - Troupe Leader/ Trainer
My Majorette journey began in 1995, starting out in the younger section of my troupe and working my way up through the ranks. Over the years I became part of a highly successful senior section, earning numerous awards and holding both regional and national titles.
In 2010, I founded Sapphire Supremes with just 11 members. Since then, the troupe has continued to grow, and I couldn’t be more proud of every Sapphire—past and present. Being part of this team is like having a huge extended family; we support one another, celebrate each other, and face every challenge together.
Today, the Sapphires are an award‑winning troupe in their own right, and I know that with their hard work, passion, and dedication, the success will only continue.
I hope you enjoy exploring our site, and please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more.
Lynne Powell- Trainer
Elaine Dawson- Troupe Assistant
I am Katie's mum and have followed her throughout her majorette career. I also try help out with training pointing out critical errors like arms, fingers and heads. I also pride myself on making the troupe look their best by making sure all uniforms are cleaned and pressed to a high standard. Like Katie I am very proud of the Sapphires.
Babies Assistants
Liana- I’ve been dancing since I was five, and it’s been a huge part of my life ever since. As an assistant, my favourite thing is watching students grow — seeing new skills click and celebrating their achievements. My favourite discipline to perform is Military, but when it comes to watching, nothing beats the energy and visuals of Pom.
Shauna-
Tots Assistant
Leanne -
Juniors Assistant
Lucy - I started dancing at the age of six and joined Sapphires in 2024. Some might say I’m definitely a baton girl, but my favourite discipline to dance is military. My favourite discipline to watch and teach will always be baton.
I love being an assistant because seeing the dancers you’ve supported all year absolutely smash their routines at competitions — and grow in confidence along the way — is the most rewarding feeling. Moving to Sapphires was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Tinies Assistants
Ellie — I started dancing when I was five, and ever since then pom has been my favourite discipline. I love everything about it: the energy, the performance, and the way everyone is always having such a great time. I also enjoy pushing myself with new baton skills, and I’m still learning more even now.
Throughout my dance journey I’ve had the chance to help train dancers across a range of sections. One of the most rewarding parts is seeing a routine you’ve created come to life out on the arena — there’s nothing quite like that moment.
Jess - I’ve been dancing since I was seven, and my Sapphire journey began four years ago. Pom is my favourite discipline to perform — I love the energy, the drive, and the challenge of keeping that intensity from start to finish. I also love watching Military, especially the precision and the unique formations that make it so captivating.
As an assistant, one of my greatest joys is seeing dancers grow in confidence, both in training and on the competition floor. I’m grateful to be someone they can come to for support, whether it’s about dance or life outside of it.
Being part of Sapphires has given me a dance family that stands by me through everything, and I’m extremely thankful for the love, strength, and support we share
The Dancers
We encourage our team to input into their routines. We also like to promote team work by getting older members to work with younger members.
